kai's earth day birthday! kai turned seven this week. he kept asking me if i could believe it or not, and you know this year he did feel like seven. the past few years when he turned 5 and 6 those numbers seemed so old, but being with him, seeing him grow and change into this beautiful person- it felt good.

we celebrated at the beach in santa cruz with rowell and story. kai frolicked in the cold white waves enjoying the open space and sand. it was a day of cleansing and release for all of us. with heart cupcakes to top it off made by kai and myself. he is a really good baker.
